What are the Different Levels of Electrician Licensing?

When a home owner feels the need to inspect his electrical system, unless already trained in electrical repair, it’s a good idea to find an electrician who is an expert. Since a faulty electrical system could be a threat to the safety of everybody in the home, it’s important for an electrician to have the proper education and training for the job. When an electrician is licensed, it means he has passed the following levels of education and training.
There are 4 different stages to get an electrician license.
Apprentice Electrician
The one who is new to the job is considered to be an Apprentice. He needs to complete 2 years of training under supervision. After passing an electrical examination, he will become a Wireman Electrician.
Wireman Electrician
A Wireman Electrician is allowed to work in any inhabited home unsupervised. But the electrician is not licensed to work in a commercial location without Journeyman Electrician supervision.
Journeyman Electrician
At Caddell, the electricians we send to your home to work on your electrical system will have at least this level of license. To become a Journeyman Electrician, the candidate must finish 8000 hours of work below a Master Electrician and pass a written exam.
Master Electrician
A Master Electrician is a Master. All electrical contract companies should have a Master Electrician on staff to supervise and give training. WE DO!

Simple Tricks to Save on Electricity Bills

Residents of Dallas, getting higher electricity bills is becoming a common issue these days. If you are living in Dallas and looking for ways to reduce your electricity bills, here we share few tips and tricks to lower those costs.
Setting AC to the appropriate temperature
Though many people love the super cold air from air conditioners during hot summer days, it is recommended to have it set at 78 degrees for summer. But do not change the temperature all at once if you are not sure about your comfort level. Gradually raising or lowering the thermostat can  get that comfort level set without causing a huge jump in the bill.
Make use of fans
Fans circulate the hot air inside the room towards outside making the room cooler. As it spreads the air all over the indoor space, you can feel comfortable in any corner of your room. Fans do not consume nearly as much electricity as air conditioners.
Electrical wiring
Keep in mind the possibility of electricity leakage in the electrical wiring of your home. If you find any, immediately call an electrician in Dallas and get it corrected. You can contact any electrician service with confidence as long as the company has a BBB membership with a good rating.
Laundry habits
Switch to cold water wash when possible. Heating up several gallons of water consumes more electricity. Cold water can do a good job on most laundry and that saves you money. Choose to dry the cloths during the night. It avoids heating up of entire house which in turn causes the AC to work harder to hold a lower temperature steady. During the nights, your house will not get heated up as much it does during the days.

Seal windows and doors
Air leakage into or outside the house can be a major source of your high energy bills. Bad insulation can cause an increase of energy consumption up to 30%. Insulate your doors and windows properly to eliminate leakage.
Inspection of your electrical system
Electrical systems need a regular checkup to maintain its effectiveness. If you find your system needs to be inspected, call a licensed electrician nearby you.
